According to the Wikipedia entry, Parabellum is one of the most popular series in the history of western cinema. And with the release of the movie, fans can see the whole saga unfold in a new way. At first glance, Parabellum doesn't look like a sequel and when you take a closer look, you will find that the movie is based on a web comic. However, if you read on, you will realize that the movie takes place in the same universe as the original book series.
In this John Wick: Chapter Three, John Wick (Keanu Reeves) returns back to his old home to find that his wife, Fiona (Cara Delevingne), is being held hostage by a ruthless gangster. In order to rescue her, he decides to join forces with his childhood friend, Chuck, who has been hired by the mobster to help him. Meanwhile, Nikolai Mirov (Mateo Gil) is also finding himself in a dangerous situation, and with his wife on the run, he is left alone to deal with a dangerous, mysterious hit man named Nero.
Despite the fact that the John Wick: Chapter Three is set in a completely different world, it is very much connected to the original series in a number of ways. For instance, both novels take place in a city called Vancouver, Canada. The film also features an important character known as Alex Vause, who appears in several chapters of the novel series.
In addition, actor Michael Harris plays a recurring role as Cody Coffman, the head of the fictional Vancouver guild of Assassins, while actor Philip Winchester also reprises his role as the character of Alex Vause. Finally, there are also quite a few "special" characters that appear in the movie.
The most important character of the movie, however, is John Wick, who is played by Keanu Reeves, who is known for his roles in such movies as Shaft, Savages, Insidious, and Locke. John Wick is a hard-edged, street-smart gunfighter who is experienced in rough-and-tumble gunfights, but at the same time, he can't seem to get over his love for Fiona.
However, aside from John Wick, there are also other characters that appear in the movie, which include Santino D'Antonio (a blind taxi driver), Colin "Chilly" Carroll (a former soldier), Detective Trish "Striker" Carver (a former CIA agent), George Lathrop (a writer/comic artist), Eddie Batson (a former hit man), Lance Reddick (a former gangster), Harold "Babyface" Pinkus (a former boxer), and more. It also features all the main characters from the franchise, as well as several other characters that cameo.
The movie is full of action, drama, and twists. From the beginning, you are privy to the dark dealings of the 'clan', which is allegedly smuggling drugs into Vancouver. Then, you are given a glimpse of the way the criminal mastermind deals with threats, and we get to see him constantly overcoming them in the end.
Finally, John Wick: Chapter Three may not be the best movie in the series, but it is still very much worth your attention. After all, the series has earned a solid following among fans of the series.
